What is Mindfulness
think and feel about their thoughts and experiences, especially stressful experiences.
It is a form of mental training that has been proven in countless scientific trials to help people cope with stress, depression pain, illness and recent studies have also demonstrated that Mindfulness improves creative thinking and productivity.
Mindfulness is a technique that teaches you become present-moment focused. This enables you to better manage the challenges of life, for example a stressful job, a difficult relationship, a health condition, or simply juggling the many demands on your time.
With regular practice, it can make a significant improvement to your quality of life.
Mindfulness works by changing the way you react to experiences in your life. You might not be able to change your circumstances, but through mindfulness practice you can change your response to them, and, through that, the negative impact they have on your life.
How can I learn it?
As when learning any new skill, the more you practise mindfulness, the more effective it becomes.
As well as training your mind, you will learn how to pay attention to your body and to the world around you. By the time your course finishes you will have already started to weave a range of mindfulness techniques into your daily life and you will be seeing enough positive changes, to realise there is a huge benefit to continuing your mindfulness practice.
You might find that stress is no longer controlling your life, or that you are becoming better at managing the physical and psychological impact of having a health condition. Perhaps your concentration and focus at work has improved, or you notice yourself becoming more resilient to the challenges each day throws at you.

• worry less about experiences you find stressful
• be better prepared before you enter a stressful situation
• manage your response to stress as it arises
• become more resilient and self-aware
• gain confidence that you can manage situations you find challenging
• enjoy life more because you are taking control over your stress-response
